Pricing & Performance Analyst
Core purpose of the Job:
In general and under the Direct Supervision of the Marketing Business Intelligence & Reporting Manager, the role is accountable for creating value from MTN’s vast amount and variety of data using advance analytical and statistical methods and models to answer complex business questions. The position has the responsibility to analyze and challenge the costs of the Marketing offerings – build selling prices for P&S and offers – restore the analysis to the Management to facilitate the decision-making and to be force of proposal.
This will serve to aid in decision making and improve the whole performance.
And in particular to perform the following activities
-Analyze the impacts of price movements
-Identify and implement key performance monitoring indicators
-Continuously analyze product price performance (sensitivity, positioning), identify and deploy corrective actions if necessary
-Optimize/adjust Group Pricing methods based on national context
-Participate in the definition of the strategic frameworks Pricing of the brand by being force of proposal
-Conduct performance studies on different levers / Pricing innovations (new B2C tariff plans, promotional offers, new product typologies).
-Identify areas of improvements and concerns in business operational areas and provide appropriate action plans.
-Develop and implement performance metrics to improve business operational efficiency.
-Analyze root causes of business problems and recommend corrective actions.
-Maintain documentations for problem identification, definition and solving procedures.
-Provide optimal business solutions to achieve operational and financial goals.
-Review and recommend improvements to existing business programs
-Suggest new techniques and technologies to meet or exceed business goals.
-Identify products & offerings gaps and provide appropriate proposal to close the gaps
-Provide direction and support to business teams whenever required.
-Develop business presentations for management and customers as needed.
-Monitor business performances regularly and generate performance reports to management.
-Develop, update and enforce business policies and procedures.
Key Performance Areas:
Task Complexity:
-Data definition and KPI establishment
-Business Reporting (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, ad-hoc report, Simulation, etc.)
-Validate data accuracy before use – proactively manage and identify data availability, processing capability.
-Responsible for BCase and post launch performance analysis (offers performance, promo take up, bundle adoption, etc.)
-Highly involved in reporting aspect validation in any BRS that should be shared with IT
-Support all CONSUMER department with on demand data
-Very proactive and anticipate on data need according to market dynamic and offers design
-Active support to improve customer analytics
-Development and adding of new ad’hoc Reports to Report catalogue.
Supervisory / Leadership / Managerial Complexity:
-Display a positive attitude
-Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change
Educational Requirements:
-BSC.+4/5 training with a specialization in Finance, BSC. or MS. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent practical experience
Experience:
-2 – 4 years data science working experience and with a leadership role.
-Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests
-2/3 years of professional experience acquired in data analysis, ideally in a B2C context
-Perfect mastery of Excel and Access, and knowledge of BI and Datavisulisation solutions (Business Objects, Qlikview, Tableau, Power BI, D3, Qlikview, Sisense)
-Methodical and organized, you have very good analytical and synthesis skills
-Business and Performance oriented, taste for numbers
-Strength of proposal, proactive
-You show flexibility and agility.
-Fundamental in machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests
-Demonstrable skills and experience using SQL with large data sets (for example, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server)
-Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, Weka, NumPy, MatLab
-Fluent in at least one scripting language (Shell, Python, Ruby, etc.)
-Experience in building ETL processes (SSIS, Oracle Data Integrator; Code based)
-Good command of applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression
-Fundamental in scripting and programming is a plus
-Fundamental of big data technologies like Hadoop is a plus
-Strong communications and interpersonal skills and quick grasps to understand business problems
