Description of task This assignment is in support to the UNFPA Regional Office for West and Central Africa. Under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Strategic Partner, the UN Volunteer will substantively contribute to: • Facilitating the identification and meeting of Human Resource needs and objectives of the organisation in the region; • Supporting the effective implementation of the Human Resources aspects of the UNFPA Strategic Plan and Business Model; • Driving the alignment of HR Strategic initiatives, as detailed in the HR Strategy, with Regional/Country Office business needs; • Guiding management in applying HR policies and practices effectively and empower clients to provide input to HR policy and practices in order to best meet the strategic needs of the Region; • Supporting Capacity building and knowledge sharing. Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Bachelor degree or equivalent Education – Additional Comments: University degree, (preferably advanced degree) in human resources management, business or public administration, social sciences or related field; Required experience: 24 Months Experience remark: • Possess at least two (02) years of experience at the national or international level in providing HR services; • Knowledge of modern concepts and approaches in the field of Human Resources; • Experience in recruitment is required; • Initiative, strong conceptual abilities, sound judgment, ability to multi-task • Experience in using relevant software and other applications, e.g. word processing, graphics software, spreadsheets and database management systems, Internet, etc; Language skills: • French(Mandatory), Level – Fluent Area of expertise: Human resources management and development Driving license: Non Competencies values: Adaptability and Flexibility, Client Orientation, Commitment and Motivation, Commitment to Continuous Learning, Communication, Ethics and Values, Integrity, Managing Performance, Professionalism, Respect for Diversity, Self-Management, Working in Teams |
