Street Child  recruits 01 Research and Projects Volunteer

Street Child  recruits 01 Research and Projects Volunteer – Nepal

THE ROLE

Street Child are looking for individuals hoping to gain valuable experience in the development sector by undertaking a programmes support role in Nepal, helping our local team during a particularly busy period over the next few months in our country office in Kathmandu, as well as in the field (when required).

Having successfully completed three phases of post-earthquake construction and rigorous community engagement with UNICEF in Nepal, we have now launched two three-year programmes, targeting over 10,000 girls across five districts in a community that has one of the lowest functional literacy rates in the world. Our team will also continue to assess and develop further other ongoing programmes. Working alongside the Street Child of Nepal team, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

● Helping coordinate primary and secondary research using bespoke methodologies and methods, including appropriate tools for research with children, their communities and other relevant stakeholders
● Conducting literature reviews on assigned issues, proposing frameworks for how these issues can be understood within Street Child
● Collect, analyze and interpret data (qualitative and quantitative) from the research
● Creating/reviewing research papers with recommendations for Street Child and relevant stakeholders; these papers will form the basis for future research and initiatives
● Supporting the design and delivery of projects; including travel to the field sites if necessary
● Assisting in monitoring and evaluating the progress of projects to ensure they are on target to reach the outlined timeframes and intended impact
● Identifying potential local and international funders and helping in writing in-depth funding proposals to these organisations as required

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn about the development sector through an immersive experience, and to make a lasting contribution to the organisation and its aim to empower children through education in Africa and Asia.
