Job Title:  GTM Specialist Youth & Mass Market – IRC20559

Mission/ Core purpose of the Job:
Elaborate & Coordinate go-to-market and launch activities for Youth & Mass Market products. Drive the delivery of Youth & Mass Market core product releases to market, developing product messaging and positioning, as well as sales enablement.
This role is cross-functional, requiring regular communication with product & Value Proposition management, Brand & Com, sales & Distribution, and other staff members.
Key Performance Areas:
Go to market Strategy
•Identify, develop and evaluate GTM strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors.
•Establish on quarterly Products & services roadmap
Definition of GTM
•Formulate, direct, or coordinate marketing activities or policies to promote Youth & Mass Market products or services, working with advertising and sales and distribution managers.
•GTM planned, executed and follow up successfully: product launches, campaigns and events etc…
Merchandising & Brand visibility Planning
•Coordinate with regional sales & distribution  the roll-out Youth & mass market merchandising, in accordance with retail strategy,  implement tools to track merchandising of Youth and Mass Market  materials on the ground, regularly refresh and upgrade
•Quarterly regional merchandising plan with proposed materials, designs & budget
Market coverage tracking/ cost – effectiveness of visibility
•Regular tracking of Youth & Mass market footprint presence in the regional market, periodic review comprising outdoor, POS, retail media locations compared to population, competitor presence. Redeploy and reorganise when and where necessary to ensure maximum market coverage for budget.
•Implementation of market coverage tracking & report. Weekly report on competitor activity and POS activity Monthly market coverage report.
Field activations regional & promo campaign
•Define in accordance with the regional managers any direct and interactive communication mechanisms (town storms, road -shows, spot product demos) to activate Youth & Mass market regional marketing campaigns, regional & localized promo on the field in order to give more impact to product launches and promos, encourage quick uptake of new products, educate and assist customers on more complex products.
•Field activation plans for all regional marketing campaign. Impact of field activations on sales and product uptake
Event & sponsorship management
•Identify or define in accordance with the regional managers sponsorships & events with positive impact on Youth & Mass market segment.
Action plan and ROI
•Product & service effectiveness
•Consult with youth & Mass market VP Design, product development & Brand & Com specialists on product specifications such as design or packaging. Recommend modifications to products or other characteristics to improve the sustainability of products.
Product improvement
•Product & service information
•Assist in training session for Youth & Mass market new product & service for all actors of channel (BA , AM , MTN Connect , Digital , sales etc..) , as well as for existing P&S. Compile lists describing Youth & Mass market product or service offerings.
•All relevant Youth and mass market P&S well known within stakeholders in the different touch points.
Budgeting & OPEX management
•Prepare OPEX budgets for Youth & Mass Market. Monthly and quarterly management of OPEX. Analyse OPEX and propose ways of improving cost effectiveness of campaigns.
•Opex optimization & saving
•Day-to-Day Supervision of  activities
•Manage day to day relationship with GTM Stakeholders,Prepare briefs,review briefs ,participate to elaboration and follow up of  media planning,define clear targets and focus areas every month, obtain in-put  from regional Distribution team, supervise and evaluate Youth & Mass market activities and performance Monthly & quarterly review
•Timely delivery of campaigns. Forecast Vs realisation.
Market intelligence & Competitor Monitoring for Youth & Mass market segment
•Design tools and systems for collecting & consolidating information on market & competitor activity in the channel and within region and how this affects Youth and mass market commercial performance. Put in place regular reports on market status with details competitor activity.
•Weekly consolidate market status & competitor report
•Monthly intelligence report
Minimum job-related educational qualification required
•Degree or Diploma in Marketing
•Degree or Diploma in Marketing &sales
Minimum years relevant experience required for this position:
•2 to 3 years experience in Trade Marketing and/or Marketing Communications and Distribution, preferably in telecoms or dynamic fmcg industries such as tobacco, beer, etc…

Important competencies required for the position:
•Understanding of marketing principles, marketing communications tools & techniques.
•Strong understanding of Youth & mass market distribution principles and channels, how they are organized, how they function
•Strong knowledge of retail environments, and retail media, merchandising principles, merchandising tools and techniques
•Ability to classify different types of retail points into categories based on clearly defined criteria and to design appropriate branding for each type of outlet
•Ability to plan activities several months ahead, taking into account changing market conditions, limited budgets, business objectives,
•Ability to coordinate execution and roll-out of activities across several locations at the same time
•Understanding of market research principles; ability to use market research findings to correct or improve communication activities
•Market & competitor analysis; ability to detect shifts in the market, identify changes in consumer habits, deduct competitive strategy from observing competitor activities, understand MTN’s position in the market and implications at every given time ability
•Planning & organization: ability to plan ahead, organize work & teams in structured manner, with clear priorities and focus
•Multitasking: ability to supervise several campaigns at the same time without sacrificing timing, effectiveness and quality
•Good grasp of processes, ability to develop processes to simplify work and make more efficient, understanding of company policies, processes and procedures
•Good knowledge of GSM industry, basic technologies, products & services, industry evolution, trends, performance indicators etc…
•Good computer and presentation skills; can work comfortably with most common computer software and programs Microsoft Office suite etc…
•Financial literacy: understanding of basic finance principles, ability to conduct cost-benefits analysis for communication projects; campaigns, sales promotions etc…,
