We are looking for the Head of Safmarine Ivory Coast Area, based in Abidjan. The person in the role will be responsible for Safmarine in the Area, including leadership on our T&L transformation journey, profitability, SG&A cost efficiency, customer satisfaction and employee engagement.
As the member of the Area Leadership Team, the Area head of Safmarine will be acting as a brand ambassador and ‘go to person’ to drive coordination across functional units critical to Safmarine service delivery, alongside development of best practice Customer Experience and Sales direction setting for Safmarine across the Area.

Key responsibilities
• Develop and execute an effective commercial strategy locally with the Area Leadership Team and Safmarine Management team
• Support the commercial activities, maximize the value of the brand and deliver value propositions to the customers that will contribute to the Transport and Logistics Division
• Liaising actively with Regional Revenue Management to ensure dynamic pricing is achieved in line with market conditions and revenue targets
• Lead and drive overall performance management in the Area
• Drive cost and efficiency improvements initiatives within the Area.
• Provide an exemplary customer experience through internal and external processes and achieve targeted customer satisfaction levels
• Effectively guide, identify, attract and develop talents to meet both the long and short term business strategies
• Drive further growth and development of Safmarine in line with the global strategy
• Act as a role model to Safmariners that will share a common understanding of what it means to be a Safmariner and how our brand and culture makes a difference
We are looking for
• Solid experience in commercial functions with minimum 5 years in a leadership role preferred
• Previous experience in managing a business and objectives in a matrix organization
• Commercial knowledge in logistics and a proven track record in delivering results.
• Strong commercial focus
• Excellent leadership and people skills.
• Proven capabilities in dealing with ambiguity
• Developing direct reports and others
• Motivating others
• At ease with principles of management reporting tools
• Strong analytical skills
• French language skills are an advantage
