Reporting to the Africa Region HR Director with a dotted reporting line to the Area Managing Director, the Area Human Resources Manager will act as a key business partner by driving and embedding HR strategies, providing professional HR expertise and supporting and coaching internal employees and leaders. There is one prime objective – delivering and adding significant value to the business.
Our vacancy exists in the vibrant and developing Ivory Coast Area (CIA) and includes in its geography the dynamic African economies of Ivory Coast, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Burkina Faso.

Key responsibilities
• Build strong relationships and trust with leaders and colleagues, offer HR expertise and coaching on people issues, assist leaders to gain a better understanding of employees’ needs and career aspirations.
• Work closely with leaders to analyse, anticipate and outline present and future organisational capabilities.
• Work closely with HR Centres of Excellence.
• Work with stakeholders and vendors outside of the CIA Area to drive global standards of performance. Provide relevant tools and programmes to attract, develop, and retain talent. Implement HR practices on talent management, leadership development and talent acquisition to close gaps on organisational capabilities and sustain a sufficient talent pipeline to achieve business goals and further enhance long-term competitive advantage.
• Hinged on the People Performance Management (PPM) principles, support Leaders in building High Performance Teams.
• Employee Engagement: Support the Leaders in owning these in their teams.
• Ensure the execution and delivery of HR operational activities in an effective and efficient manner.
• Contribute expertise to the HR community on competency enhancement.
• Change Management: Support Leaders and employees in various Organisational and Functional Changes.
• Culture Custodian: Support the Organisation in embedding the Maersk behaviours.
